Using iPhone Emulators

Hello again. Today we will be talking about how to use iPhone emulators. As the name implies, iPhone emulators are software that can perform like iPhone apps on a computer. This allows you to try out the features of the various iPhone applications without actually having an iPhone.

Of course, there is no iPhone emulator that can function like an iPhone, but there are some that get pretty close. SO if you do not have an iPhone yet and you want to try out some wicked iPhone apps before you actually buy an iPhone, here is a list of some great iPhone emulators out there.

1) Blackbaud iPhone Browser Simulator: There is an iPhone emulator developed by Shaun Sullivan, CEO of Blackbaud Inc. It is in the form of an executable file that runs a Windows build of WebKit and embeds it inside an iPhone-like shape.

2) MobiOne Studio: Made by Genuitec LLC, MobiOne Studio was originally built as an iPhone app creator and tester. However it also comes with an iPhone emulator. It comes with a 15-day free trial, which I think is truly great.

3) TestiPhone: Another iPhone emulator that is gaining popularity is the version available at TestiPhone.com. This is a free online simulator. TestiPhone is available on the official website. Developers have to be aware however, that since the iPhone doesn't support Java or Flash, some of the applications that may work on the Testiphone emulator may not actually work on an iPhone.

Try out these iPhone emulators and see what you can make out of them. See you around soon.
